Tips for Lovely Wedding Photos

Capturing all of the memories of your wedding day is very important. That is why your photos are a key aspect of planning you need to focus on. Finding the ideal photographer is essential if you want to be able to look back at those pictures with a  smile on your face. Take your time choosing one so that you get what you want. Talk to photographers to see what they can do for you.

Find one that is flexible and that will do what you ask. For example you may want the traditional shots of the wedding party. However, you also want lots of candid shots of the guests at the wedding and during the reception. A great photographer is able to get those wonderful poses as well as those shots that simply come up as an opportunity in motion.

Ask to see samples of the work a photographer has done in the past. That way you will be able to compare them and see if the quality is what you would really be happy with. The quality of the photos isn’t an area where you want to compromise. That is why you need to find experience that also comes with a price that can work well for your budget.

Find out what other features a photographer can offer you as well. For example many of them also create videos that you will want to purchase of your wedding. They can help you to keep the entire event as once that is very special.

These days just about everyone out there has a digital camera. Make sure you let friends and family members know that they can take their own photos during the wedding and reception. Ask them to email you the photos as well or to share them from an online photo album. You will find that they get some wonderful shots you would like to print as well.

The lighting in a given facility should be looked at too. That is something many people overlook when they book a location for the wedding ceremony or for the reception. Poor lighting though can result in dark photos even when your photographer is using quality equipment. When you book with that person, ask them if they have done work in your specific locations and what their take is on the lighting there.

Not all of the photos are going to call out to you no matter who takes them. There may be some where someone has their eyes closed or they are looking the other way. However, you want to have enough shots taken that you can get those that you really love. If you happen to be self conscious about certain things you need to try to compensate for them with the photos.

For example some people feel that they have a double chin which shows up in all their photos. By slightly tilting the head to the left or the right though that can be greatly reduced. Some people don’t like their smile so close ups with their teeth can be embarrassing. Let your photographer know about such concerns so they can work their magic as well.

Have fun with your wedding photos as well because you want to have strong memories with them too. You don’ t want to say why do we all look so bored in these photos? Instead you want to be lively and having a great time. The attitude that is in place during wedding photos is important. When you take that lead the rest of your wedding party will follow along.

In order to have a memorable wedding in your life, it is very important to find a good wedding reception from thousand of wedding reception venues. Ambassador lounge is a good one in Sydney will give you a dream wedding.

One way to make your wedding stand out is to add personal touches to your big day, like aproaching a long standing tradition with a fresh idea.

Something Blue

… represents loyalty and faithfulness. This symbolism dates back to Biblical times, when blue stood for purity and constancy. Brides often choose to wear a blue garter to keep with this tradition or blue ribbons in their hair. If you want to strive for a more unique way to honor this tradition, Violets represent loyalty and faithfulness, and can be incorporated into your bouquet, or pressed and put in a locket. Offering Personalized Violet Flower Seed Favors to wedding guests ties in nicely with this theme (Forget-Me-Nots are another romantic option for this spin on blue). Another stylish and tasteful trend to arise lately is blue silk emboidery on the dress itself… this allows you to bring together “something new” and “something blue”. I recently saw a fun-loving bride who had her shoes dyed a pale shade of turquoise. It was a singularly unique and light-hearted surprise under a very elegant and traditional dress.

Remember that your wedding day is a celebration, as well as a serious commitment. Infuse your choices with joy and personality. This will make the experience memorable for, not only you and the groom, but for the guests who come to witness the occasion & support you in your lives together.

A Tradition After The “I Do”

After the much awaited wedding ceremony and the traditional union of two people in the eyes of god, it will be then followed by a formal as well as traditional party that celebrates this important event. This is held as hospitality for those who have attended the wedding, hence the name reception: the couple receives society, in the form of family and friends, for the first time as a married couple. Like the wedding itself, wedding receptions are unique from each country, culture, and religion. Although traditions held in wedding receptions are different, majority of those practiced today are inspired by western culture. This includes:

  • How the food is served
  • The traditional toast
  • First dance
  • The cutting of the cake

The Food Most receptions feature food, usually either a plated or buffet dinner. Other choices include a meal consisting of chef-attended stations, or a cocktail reception with passed hors d’œuvre. Some receptions, especially from cultures and religious faiths that prohibit alcohol and dancing, focus on dessert—for instance, wedding cake and punch in the afternoon. The Toast The traditional toast before or after a meal are made as a way to wishing the couple well. Traditionally, the speaking parties include the bride’s father, groom, the best man, and the maid of honor. Toasts often include the speaker’s first impressions of the newlyweds, or of the two as a couple. The Dance The newly married couple typically have a first dance, which used to be called the “bridal waltz”. In most contemporary weddings, a romantic song is played. The wedding reception dance party may involve a certain sequence of special dances. For example, after the first dance, the newly married parties may also share a special dance with a parent. In the Philippines, a traditional dance called the money dance is a dance in which the newly weds would dance alone in the center of their guests wherein money, in the form of paper bills, is sometimes taped or pinned to the groom and bride’s dress. The Wedding Cake Typically, a cake from a professional baker is displayed until after dinner. After a short period of dancing, the couple cut the cake and may feed a bite to one another. Then, the cake is cut for the guests. This cake is typically at least two tiers, and often more. Some couples have a smaller, formal display cake, which is supplemented by sheet cake. It is served with coffee and tea before the main course. For more information visit to our site at http://philippineweddingplanner.com

Religious Views of Marriage

Marriage is one of the most memorable, and at the same time, sacrilegious event celebrated around the world. Marriage practices, as well as their purpose and the laws that surrounds it, are very diverse across cultures. All mainstream religions have strong views relating to marriage. Most religions perform a wedding ceremony to solemnize the beginning of a marriage. For many, marriage may be regarded as a sacrament, a contract, a sacred institution, or a covenant. Christian views of Marriage Christians believe that marriage is a gift from God, one that should not be taken for granted. From the very beginning of the Christian Church, marriage law and theology have been a major matter. The foundation of the Western tradition of Christian marriages have been the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul. Protestant views of Marriage Protestant denominations see the primary purpose of marriage to be to glorify God by demonstrating his love to the world. Other purposes of marriage include intimate companionship, rearing children and mutual support for both husband and wife to fulfill their life callings. Protestants generally approve of birth control and consider marital sexual pleasure to be a gift of God.
Judaism views of Marriage In Judaism, marriage is viewed as a contractual bond commanded by God in which a man and a woman come together to create a relationship in which God is directly involved. Though procreation is not the sole purpose, a Jewish marriage is also expected to fulfill the commandment to have children. The main focus centers around the relationship between the husband and wife.  Islamic views of Marriage Islam also commends marriage, with the age of marriage being whenever the individuals feel ready, financially and emotionally. For a Muslim wedding to take place, the bride and her guardian must both agree on the marriage. Should either the guardian or the girl disagree on the marriage, it may not legally take place. In essence, while the guardian/father of the girl has no right to force her to marry, he has the right to stop a marriage from taking place, given that his reasons are valid. The professed purpose of this practice is to ensure that a woman finds a suitable partner whom she has chosen not out of sheer emotion.
Hinduism views of Marriage Hinduism sees marriage as a sacred duty that entails both religious and social obligations. Old Hindu literature in Sanskrit gives many different types of marriages and their categorization. “Gandharva Vivaha” marriage is an instant marriage by mutual consent of participants only, without any need for even a single third person as witness to normal (present day) marriages. to “Rakshasa Vivaha” or “demoniac” marriage, is performed by abduction of one participant by the other participant, usually, but not always, with the help of other persons. Budgets for parties just aren’t what they used to be. These days, your bachelorette party planning has to consider a smaller budget. So what do you do to save money, without going cheap?

It doesn’t matter how small your budget is, there is no reason you need to go cheap with throwing a bachelorette party. You can also pull it off so that you save money, but don’t look like you were trying to save money.

First things first, throwing a party in a public location is probably your most expensive option. Doing it at someone’s house will definitely save you money, and you can still do most of the things you would have done in a public setting. this means that your idea for a gambling trip to Vegas is out.

Your budget is best served by staying in. Entertainment and alcohol soak up a lot of money. Martinis and other hard liquor drinks will run you $8 a piece (of course, it all depends on the city you’re partying in), and up. A good money saving idea (if you absolutely must go out) is to drink a lot before you even go out (but remember to get yourself a designated driver).

Purchase alcohol and get yourself a bartending book. It is easy enough for you and your friends to make the same drinks as you can get at a bar – and at a fraction of the cost. You can even see if one of your male friends would be willing to tend bar for your party.

For entertainment, you’ll want to skip the strippers. It’s not only the cost of hiring one, but the endless dollar bills you’ll be stuffing down his pants. If you really want a stripper/dancer, there is an alternative. You could see if one of your male friends (maybe the bartender you convinced to help at your party) would be willing to dance for you.

It doesn’t have to be someone with rock-hard abs, either. Have you ever seen the episode of Friends where Danny Devito was the stripper for Phoebe’s bachelorette party? Party of the fun can be cheering for a guy who isn’t embarrassed by his lack of physical prowess.

For other entertainment, there are numerous games you can play. The Cherry Game, Bridal Pictionary, Pin The Macho On The Man (I bet you can guess what the macho is), Bridal Shower Bingo, Would You Rather, and Guess What’s In The Bag are just a few ideas to get you started.

Bachelorette party planning on a budget is not difficult. Keep in mind that staying home (public places will kill your budget) is your biggest opportunity to save money, but you won’t have any less fun. The same drinks are available, as well as entertainment, so your party doesn’t have to suffer.

Getting Dressed for the Wedding

Everyone wants to feel their complete greatest for the big  ceremony. Having the perfect hair, the perfect outfit and even the correct accessories can be all the difference. Even reaching for the greatest you does not mean that you have to be forgotten in all the mess. Be sure that you practice with your wedding day attire so that you unveil the greatest you and not a you that you do not even recognize.

Set up a hair appointment weeks prior to ceremony. Locate the hair style that will flow best with the atmosphere of the wedding and with the getup of the wedding outfit. Wear the hairstyle around for twenty four hours to see how it comes off. Select a style that is relaxed, long lasting and that reflects you.

Apply your makeup for the big day and ask a friend to take some photos with that makeup on your face. You will be able to see how the makeup will come off in pictures and in person. Highlight the greatest features but do not let the makeup overtake you.

Wear the wedding day shoes for tons of weeks before the big day. DO NOT move them outside but do wear them around the building. You will be able to get adjusted to the shoes and you will also allow the shoes to get used to you. Be sure to mark up the bottom of the shoes so that they will grip the ground and not be as slick as a smooth underside.

Simple tips are all that you need to help you dress for your big day and unveil the best you that there is when you stride through the wedding chapel doors.

It was scary enough to give the Best Man speech at my buddy’s first wedding but 13 years later when he asked me to do it again at his second wedding I started asking “Why me Lord”.  I mean when you’re in your early twenties and you’re asked to give a wedding speech you really don’t know what to fear.  You can make a wreck of it and the excuse will just be chalked up to inexperience.

Maybe just as important is, in that first wedding most of the guests were in their early twenties as well.  They’re young, having a good time and wrapped up in the idea of true love that lasts forever so regardless what you say they’ve already made up their minds that the couple is a perfect match and this is going to be a heck of a party.

Then this thing called life starts changing everyone’s idealism. Thirteen years later and it’s a much more mature crowd with not so many starry eyed idealists.  Thirteen years later and you are speaking to a group that is going to be more critical.  Sure they’re happy for the bride and groom but if you mention the word “forever” in your speech, you will have lost all credibility.

So how do you prepare for a second wedding speech for the Best Man?

Sit down with the Groom and ask him if he has anything specific he wants said.  More likely he will have things that he specifically does not want said.  If he has kids from the previous marriage is it ok to mention them or keep them out.  If, and this happened once, the former spouse is now a good friend and attending the wedding, do you mention her?

What kind of wedding will it be?  Often times second marriages are less conventional and more informal.  Try giving a speech on a windy beach with no microphone and you’ll understand the importance of this.

How long should it be in terms of time?

How many people will be there?

If you don’t know the Bride, get a couple bits of information from the Groom or Maid of Honor that you can use in the speech.

Part of the duties of the Best Man is to toast the parents of the bride.  Think back to the first wedding where your buddy fell in love with that nice Hungarian girl whose last name was Csizmazia.  Picture yourself lifting the glass and saying “Here’s to Mr. and Mrs. Uh, er, ahem, Sizemazia (I hope).  Know their last names and how to pronounce them.

There’s more to the planning obviously but I hope this gives you a few tips.  Don’t forget, it’s a real honor to be chosen Best Man, particularly the second time around.

Would you like a little help putting that Best Man wedding speech together? Do you know the other duties that the Best Man is responsible for? If you want the full scoop on what you’re getting into, visit http://www.squidoo.com/weddingspeechideas right now.

Great Fall Honeymoon Destinations

If you’re planning a wedding for the fall, it’s time to start thinking about booking your honeymoon! The honeymoon is the ideal way to relax and have fun with your new better half after the wedding, and there are plenty of brilliant places to go. These are some ideas for great autumn honeymoon destinations.

First let’s talk about a place that is not the best for fall honeymoons, and that is the Caribbean and the beaches of the Southeast and Gulf Coast. Though the weather is pleasant and the beaches are not as crowded, the autum is also the top of hurricane season. If you have got your heart set on a beach honeymoon, you would be better to pick a Pacific location, or at the least, buy travel insurance that would offer you a refund should your trip be washed out by a hurricane.

It’s right that it is very romantic to walk arm in arm with your beloved along a sandy beach with the ocean lapping along the shore. In the fall, a particularly romantic option can be to go to a north beach for your honeymoon. This will not be a sunbathing trip, but rather a chance to enjoy some peace and quiet in a lovely location. You can take lengthy walks, collect seashells, and spend cozy evenings in front of a roaring fire at a lovely hotel or inn. One good thing about this type of trip is that you are going to be ready to get some glorious deals on off-season resorts

New England is a beautiful place to go to in the autumn, and it might be a great choice for a honeymoon. Spend some time touring the amazing autumn foliage, shop for local crafts, and take day hikes in the mountains. The perspective is laid-back ; you won’t need to bring extraordinarily dressy clothing, just your cozy sweaters and maybe an easy piece of your marriage jewellery to wear to dinner in a nice restaurant. You may well end up needing to return every year for your anniversary!

If you are searching for a little more excitement, consider a fall honeymoon in Europe. You can enjoy the fantastic museums, shopping ( maybe a new bauble to finish your wedding jewelry set? ), and cafes that the great towns of Europe have to offer . The weather is usually pleasant in the autumn, and most locations may not be less crowdedwith tourists as they’re during the summer holiday months. The grand capitals of Europe such as London, Paris, and Rome are all impressive, but you might also want to consider some of the less obvious honeymoon destinations like Switzerland or Austria.

Fall boasts many holidays that honeymooners can enjoy ; perhaps the best of all is Oktoberfest in Germany. Even if you are not a large beer drinker ( but particularly if you’re ), this annual event is rich with music, food, and conventions. There are rides, carousels, shows, and of course, lots and lots of fine beer. Regardless of the name, Oktoberfest essentially takes place generally in September. Anyone that has ever been to Oktoberfest will tell you that it isn’t to be missed!

Newlyweds who prefer wine over beer will enjoy a fall honeymoon trip to Napa Valley in California. October is a superb time to visit, as it is around the time of many fall harvest parties, including the Sonoma County harvest Fair. See the sights, visit the vineyards, and bring back home some fantastic wine bottles as your honeymoon mementos.

There are many paths to enjoy the best that autumn has to offer . There is a fall honeymoon destination that is just right for any interests or budget. The best part about planning your autumn honeymoon is that it will be the best way to cap off the party of your new marriage.

What you just learned about Fall Honeymoons is just the beginning. To get more ideas, read stories, check out pictures and videos go to HoneymoonNation.com or check out my squidoo Honeymoon Nation.

Specialty Wedding Rings

Ever since I saw the specially designed wedding ring Will Smith’s character gives to his new bride in Independence Day, one with two diamond encrusted dolphins, I’ve always thought that it would be a great thing to give my wife something special, something that very few other people would have as a wedding ring.

What I ended up buying her was a ring with five rows of 10 diamonds each.  It cost enough, but what was special about it is that there were no other rings like it.  Well, they were close; there were many rings with 3 or 4 rows, but a woman has to have long fingers to be able to pull off 5 rows, which my wife has.  To this day, we’ve never seen anyone else with a ring like hers, which means it’s still a very special style.

Many brides end up with diamond rings with one large raised diamond, which is nice enough, but fairly common.  These days, designers of wedding rings are putting together both traditional and non-traditional rings for their customers, giving a diversity of choice for everyone to make.

Even designers such as, of all companies, Disney, are getting into the game.  Disney recently came out with six wedding ring designs based on some of the characters in their movies.  The designs are named for Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Ariel, and Belle.  There wasn’t much attempt to match up the rings to what these brides wore in the movies, since there wasn’t that much attention given in the movies.  Still, the rings range from one that looks pretty traditional to one that has three segments on it, with the middle one having the largest diamond and the two on the side matching each other.  They range in price from around $3,500 to $5,200, which is well within range of the average price of wedding rings.

Rings can be channel set as well as being open, but it takes some time and dedication to decide to buy a ring that doesn’t conform to the norm.  These days, some wedding rings have other stones in them that can make a ring stand out from the norm.  Something else that’s growing are people looking for rings that might be a throwback to the past, such as rings old Hollywood stars might have worn, or rings that might come from European history.

In any case, it comes down to two things.  One, having an eye for something different that still maintains its elegance.  Two, price.  If you can afford it, you can have it, even if you have to have one put together.  It doesn’t cost as much as you might think, especially in a weakening economy.  Jewelers are ready to make good deals with you; give it a shot.  Your bride is worth it.

Search hundreds of discount wedding dresses, including designer wedding dresses such as Vera Wang wedding gowns at BridePower.com.
