    Excellent History of the Vicksburg Campaign and Siege
    Although I’ve read other books about Vicksburg, Winston Groom’s history of the campaign and siege is the best one in my opinion.

    If you prefer a fine photograph to an excellent painting, Winston Groom’s Vicksburg 1863 might not be your book. Groom, born in Washington, D.C.
